Wall painting from
the former Franciscan church in Rzeszow
Fresco had been restored in 1960s. Blisters of plaster were at that time attached mechanically. Surface of the painting was covered with dust and grime. There were multiple areas were inadequate cement plaster was used for fillings.
Surface of the fresco was cleaned dry and wet. Previous repairs were removed. Fillings that overlapped original paint layer were removed as well as cooper anchors used to fix plaster blisters to the wall. Blisters were reattached and stabilised with professional plaster adhesive. Losses re-filled with respect for the original. Paint layer was retouched.
