Before treatment:

The painting was  damaged in multiple places. Canvas was loose and deformed. There was dust and grime on the surface. Varnish was yellowed.

The painting was dry and wet cleaned. The varnish layer was removed by using  solvents. Losses to the paint layer were filled and textured.  The painting was stretched on the new, custom-made stretcher. In the areas of loss and abrasions, in-painting with reversible conservation paints was carried out.  New varnish was applied.
